We on our way to Esperance. Yay! Back to the beaches.

On the way to Esperance, we stopped to stretch our legs and nearly lost Toby T in these trees. I think they are called Salmon Gums, but I called them Tiger Trees due to their orange and black colouring.

We past lots of salt lakes of varying sizes on the way. Some lakes looked like huge inland seas, others like small lagoons. All looked shallow, some were dry and you could see the salt crystals glittering like diamonds in the sun (when it came through the rain clouds!), and some took the colour of the red soils around them or the grey sky above.

The caravan park we had chosen to stay in was near the Pink Lake just outside of Esperence. Unfortunately the algae that make the Lake pink hadn't bloomed yet due to the continuing cool weather.  Still it was uncanny to see so much landlocked water that was shallow and undrinkable due to the high salinity levels.
