Cable Beach and Roebuck Bay, Broome

There are no words to descibe the richness of the colours so here are some pictures which don't do the scenes the justice they deserve.

Pindan soil has a high iron content - the stirred up red dust gives the plantlife an interesting coating.
Cable beach is the long white silica sand beach.

We also went and took some photos of the rocks at Gantheame Point.  Time passing has given the rocks their an amazing combination of sandstone rocks, layered with the red of the pindan soil. Weathering has contributed to the effect by wearing at the rocks leaving them with distorted formations creating a natural labrynthe of rock pools and monoliths.

Also at Gantheume Point are prehistoric dinosaur footprints which are only visible at low tide and a climb down amongst the rocks of the cliff face.

These days they have made a concrete mould of the footprints to save us oldies a hazardous trek down.

The dinosaur was a bird like reptile as you can see from the prints.
