Saddle Creek to the Border and on to Kununarra!

We free camped for the night just east of the WA border at a place called Saddle Creek.  Looking up as we drove in, there was this really unusual rock face it looked like paint had been spilled over the top and then over time had been worn away. If you look just belowwere the rock is worn  like fibre, there is a rounded lip like the rock has been melted. The striation of colours as usual, were stunning.

Toby T and MB decided to light a campfire, but we made them stop because it was so dry in the area. But boys will be boys and Toby got all dirty and had to have a bath. I had to scrub his tummy - Geoff was a bit jealous!

As sunset approached and we set up camp for the evening, Toby T and his new mate the MB (Masked Bandit) decided to go for a walk.  Toby could hear the call of the wild and jumped over the fence no problem, his little mate though got hung up on the fence and looked sadly on.

Fortunately, Toby came back when MB called.  We didn't like to remind him that he had no teeth while other wild animals out in the wild did.  He was still having nightmares after his escape at Uluru.

It was a hot night without power, the rocks seemed to keep the heat in until well after midnight.  Fortunately it did cool down in the wee hours and we managed to get some sleep.

Finally we got to the checkpoint into Western Australian.  A guy came on board and checked we had no fresh produce on board.
